Yada, yada, yada. A lot of words saying nothing. Black folks have heard it all before. Notice how Newsom doesn’t even mention the word “reparations.“ That’s because nothing sets White America to seeing red more than specifically addressing the needs of Black Americans.
Doesn’t matter which party. Neither is interested in going to the mat for Black Americans if it means alienating those still invested in America’s racial inheritance.
And that’s the TRUTH.
It would’ve taken courage to lean into the reparations “debate.“ But this guy has presidential aspirations, so this is a nonstarter. Remember the big deal when TaNehisi Coates spurred the discussion in the 2020 election?
