An online crowdfunding page has raised nearly $2 million for the legal defense of Daniel Penny, the former Marine charged last week with second-degree manslaughter in the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on the New York City subway earlier this month.
A “GiveSendGo” page titled “Daniel Penny’s Legal Defense Fund” listed that $1,883,357 had been raised as of late Sunday night. According to the page, it was created by the law firm Raiser & Kenniff, P.C., and the funds are to cover legal fees “from any criminal charges filed and any future civil lawsuits that may arise, as well as expenses related to his defense.” The Hill, May 14, 2023
Like many crowdsourcing sites, GiveSendGo supports various causes, such as medical bills and funeral expenses. It has promoted itself as “The #1 Free Christian Fundraising Site” and has also hosted funds for the Jan. 6 defendants and Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted of homicide after killing two people during a 2020 protest in Wisconsin. —Gothamist, May 12, 2023.
The unique thing about America today and what it has to offer the world is not its exceptionalism. That’s all mythology and standard nationalism rhetoric. But what it truly offers of value to the world is that no matter what it says, its actions are always speaking louder.
America lives its life out loud. And it gives an example of a work forever in progress.
Now here you have a so-called Christian-based operation raising money for not only a cold blooded murderer but the January 6 insurrectionists as well as the murderer (who shall remain nameless cause he’s probably googling his moniker every day like that other loser who killed Trayvon) came across his state line with an assault rifle and shot three people, killing two, got off with a sympathetic jury, and is still whining, that no university will accept him as a student and it’s ruining his “future.”
Talk about hypocrisy and racism enveloped in a toxic soup.
What better way to show your underbelly than by donating $2 million to a guy who killed another human—even after the George Floyd murder and Eric Garner chokehold RIGHT there in NYC—-and countless others?
America telling on itself.
And just think how debased, hateful, clueless and racist you have to be to donate to this guy’s defense. You looked at the video and you didn’t see a murderer destroying a human being with a family who loved him—-just like yours love you. You didn’t feel sympathy for the hapless human being caught in a no-win situation gasping futilely for air while bystanders look on passively. No, you weren’t outraged because of the dastardly deed, you felt empathy for the murderer.! You saw your kindred spirit—-the White male victim of Blue State wokeness! And in your delusion, you decided that something had to be done to help him. The bad liberals are gonna crucify this guy! And a soldier too!
So you got out your debit or credit card, googled “who’s helping the REAL victim, Daniel Penny,” and headed to your local Christian-based fundraiser and donated part of your Social Security check, your disability, or your earned money to this clown—who could’ve acted like New Yorkers usually do on public trans and minded his own beeswax—-cause nobody asked him to be the subway savior—- a Bernhard Goetz clown who could’ve exited the train if he was so bothered, or called 911. But instead he came up behind the victim and choked the life out of a human being. Even when Jordan stopped moving, STILL the fiend held him. Even when he was warned that the victim had defecated, and that meant trouble, Penny refused to relinquish his death grip-for 19 whole minutes! We saw in the video the determination on the murderer’s face. But the people who donated weren’t aghast.
We’re taking our country BACK!
